Obituary

W illiam L. "Bill" T aliaferr o, also affectionately known as "P ops," passed a way peacefully at his home on No vember 11, 2017. He was born to the late W illiam H. T aliaferro and Estelle R. T aliaferro Hopson in Hampton, V irginia.
Although W illiam was a long time resident of Hampton, he lived in Bridgeport, Connecticut for sev eral years . This is where he met and married his wife , Cecelia. W illiam lov ed to tell stories, especially those from his life e xperiences. He lo ved cars
and was a wealth of kno wledge when it came to fixing them. His grandchildren w ere the joy of his life . He lo ved spending time with them whenev er he could. William was a father figure to long-time family friend, R eginald J ohnson, Jr ., nephews, F rank and Brian Thomas, and son-in-law , Derek E. Y ancey , Sr .
W illiam is preceded in death b y his parents, step-father , Arthur O . Hopson, and daughter , Angela A. T aliaferro. He lea ves to c herish his memor y his wife , Cecelia of 43 y ear s; sister , Carolyn I. Hopson (R ussell); brother , W ayne Sedgwick; children, W . Anthony T aliaferro , Anita D . T aliaferro, R enee T aliafer r o Y ancey (Derek), Bryan J . T aliafer ro; ele ven grandchildren, five grea t grandchildren, o ne great-great grandson , and a host of other relativ es and friends.
