Donald A. Johnson, 91, died Thursday, September 17, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of Fox Hill, he was a member of Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. A graduate of the NACA Apprentice School, he retired from NASA in 1979 after 30 years of service. He was a HAM Radio Operator with the call sign WB4GSF. Preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Frances Johnson and two sisters, Joyce J. Hunt and Marilyn Joan Johnson; survivors include his wife of 69 years, Rosella F. Johnson; his son, Donald A. Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Cindy; two grandchildren, Donald A. "Chip" Johnson, III and Kelly Johnson Herspold and her husband, Tim; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Peyton and Mallory. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Monday, September 21, 2015 at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church with a funeral to follow at 2PM conducted by Rev. Eric J. Vaudt.
