Carolyn G. Parks, 59, died Friday, March 27, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of Hampton, she worked at the Phoebus branch of Old Point National Bank as a loan officer. A compassionate daughter, aunt and friend, she loved taking care of her family and had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs. Preceded in death by her parents, Willie A. and Joann G. Gibbons and her brother, "Gib" Gibbons; survivors include her nephew, David Gibbons; her niece, Amy Clark and her husband, Scott; her great-nephew, Brandon Clark; her sister-in-law, Brenda Gibbons; Brenda's daughter, Mackenzie Jenkins and her husband, John and their son, Michael; and Danny Parks. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 Wednesday at R. Hayden Smith. Following the interment, a reception will take place at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Drive.
