Betty J. Hicks, 87, passed away February 21, 2022.  A native of Green Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, Betty had been a longtime resident of Hampton, Virginia.  She retired after 25 years from Maida Development where she had worked in the factory.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 37 years, Orville Hicks; children, Wayne Hicks and Debbie Trader; brother, Billy Whithrow; sisters, Virginia Berry and JoAnn Goncalves.  Survivors include her sons, Mearl Hicks and Gary Hicks (Lori); brothers, Jimmy Withrow and Jack Withrow (Cecil); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5:30-6:30 PM.  Interment will follow at a later date in West Virginia.
